Food Pilot Plant: development services for plant-based food products

At the Lahti campus, Food Pilot Plant offers product development and testing services to support food product development and innovation, especially in the plant-based sector. Working at pilot scale enables flexible and efficient development of ideas towards industrial production.

Food Pilot Plant covers a pilot-scale test bakery and equipment to produce carbonated, plant-based drinks and alcohol, as well as storage facilities and refrigerator. For instance, heat treatments, condition measurements and storage tests, and process-controlling laboratory analyses are included in the services. Additionally, the services are complemented by extraction equipment in co-operation with LUT University.

Showroom, which is a part of Food Pilot Plant, may be rented out for product presentations and customer events.
