The Food Pilot Plant has equipment to produce carbonated drinks and plant-based drinks such as oat milk (enzymatic hydrolysis, decanting, formulation, homogenization). The equipment is complemented by an autoclave, which can be used for various heat treatments, including pasteurization and sterilization.

Distilling equipment with pan and column distillation options can be used to produce various distillates such as gins, other flavored spirits, and whiskeys. The capacity of the distilling equipment is 50 liters.

Product manager Jarkko Nikulin is responsible for services related to carbonated drinks and distillates. Services regarding oat drink production are the responsibility of laboratory coordinator Soila Saavala.
