Matchwork
In the Matchwork project, Eduks of City of Lappeenranta, LAB University of Applied Sciences, and Saimaa Vocational College Sampo are collaborating to create a new type of coaching program. The City of Lappeenranta hires unemployed job seekers across various sectors, and provides them coaching through the project to support their work endurance and functional capacity. This coaching is integrated into their duties within city services and includes task-specific training, enhancing self-efficacy, promoting social inclusion, and supporting well-being. Toward the end of the program, participants receive support and practice in job searching and interviewing to help them find a path forward and avoid recurring unemployment.
As a result of the project, the coaching model will become an integral part of the operations of the City of Lappeenranta. The employment status, well-being, and self-efficacy of the participants in the project will improve. During the project, a model and guidelines for its implementation in other municipalities will also be developed.
