Applications are now open for LAB University of Applied Sciences’ English-taught degree programmes. LAB no longer participates in the January joint application process. Instead, a new rolling admission system is in place. Applications are processed in the order they are received, and admission decisions can be made more quickly.

Through rolling admission, LAB offers a total of nine bachelor’s degree programmes in business, technology, design, health and social care, as well as hospitality, restaurant and tourism management.

At the Lahti campus, the programmes available are International Business, Industrial Information Technology, Sustainable Construction Technology, Sustainable Solutions Engineering, and Sustainable Design Business.

At the Lappeenranta campus, applicants can choose from International Business, Industrial Mechanical Engineering, Paramedic Nursing, and Tourism and Hospitality Management.

LAB’s English-taught studies provide students with the opportunity to build international expertise and networks already during their studies. Rebecca Lindfors, a student of International Business, explains how studying in English has supported her career plans:

“Studying in English has been immensely beneficial for my career. I want to work in marketing, and the programme has given me a strong international foundation for that.”

“I would like to encourage applicants: don’t worry about your language skills, they will improve during your studies. If you find an English-taught programme that interests you, seize the opportunity and apply!”, Lindfors continues.

Flexible rolling admission replaces the January joint application

LAB will no longer participate in the January joint application. Instead, applications to English-taught programmes are submitted through rolling admission, meaning continuous application.

“In rolling admission, applications are processed and accepted as they arrive, without a fixed deadline as in the joint application. This way, applicants do not need to wait long for an admission decision, so the offer of a study place may come quite quickly. It is advisable not to delay applying, as the most popular programmes fill up fast,” explains Anne Himanka, Director of Student Services at LUT Universities.

The application period for bachelor’s programmes runs from 1 November 2025 to 31 March 2026. Applications for master’s programmes are submitted in a separate admission round between 1 November 2025 and 21 January 2026. Studies will begin in August 2026.

Applicants currently completing upper secondary education in Finland and graduating no later than 31 August 2026 may already apply to English-taught programmes. More detailed information on the application process can be found on LAB’s website
