Tietoperusteisen toiminnallisen poistumisturvallisuuden arviointimenettelyn kehittäminen hoivapalvelukohteissa

The Rescue Departments of South Karelia (EKP) and Kymenlaakso (Kympe), the Social and Health Care Districts of South Karelia (Eksote) and Kymenlaakso (Kymsote), LAB University of Applied Sciences and Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT) have started in 2019 a development project ToPo funded by Fire Protection Fund Finland(PSR).

The main aim of the project is to develop an information-based, harmonized and nationally proper assessment procedure for evacuation safety of healthcare units.

The project defines the key information contents for the evacuation safety regarding 1. the building, 2. the care service provider and 3. the patients to be treated and creates an assessment criteria and a computational model for the evaluation of the evacuation safety of health care units.

The functionality of the assessment model is piloted at selected care units, and the model is optimized based on the results obtained. The project will support and complement the existing evaluation procedure in Finland.

As a part of evaluation process is to make research and testing how BIM can be used in this use case.
