RAPU - Money Talk for Young Adults
RAPU — Money Talk for Young Adults — aims to strengthen the financial literacy, everyday management, economic mindset, and social inclusion of young adults in vulnerable labour market positions. The project results in the development of an operational model that promotes positive experiences of sustainable consumption. By improving young adults' financial management skills and thus their employability, the project supports the objectives of the Päijät-Häme Regional Strategy for skills and employment development.
The RAPU project offers supplementary activities to the existing service system, focusing on preventing financial problems in different everyday situations. In particular, the project will focus on preventive financial education for young adults and women from immigrant backgrounds and develop proactive tools to help participants avoid money problems. The project will actively involve the target group. The participants will produce videos describing their money worries, financial challenges and success stories. The videos will allow young people to share their experiences and give a realistic picture of their money challenges. These materials will be collected in a new and effective operational model to help the participants and other young adults understand finance management and sustainable consumption.
The RAPU project emphasises equality and equity promotion, especially in financial management. Project activities support social and educational specialists working with young adults. The project's materials, report, and operational model will increase regional awareness of the target group's current financial issues and needs, and potential monetary risks and suggest ways to prevent money problems.
