Regenerative growth through design: Organic waste fibres and side streams as a growth base for nature-based solutions
“Regenerative growth through design” -project aims to produce new innovations and solutions for green building by using design methods and by using of organic materials to replace plastic. The aim is to mitigate climate change, reduce waste and create a regenerative growth.City centres are heating up and heavy rainfalls and flooding is increasing as climate change progresses. Green building can help to cool the cities during the summer and, on the other hand, the green areas also help to manage stormwater problems, especially on roof surfaces. Increasing green areas also acts as a carbon sink. Moss in particular has also been shown to clean the air of pollutants.
