New Master's degree programme focuses on leadership in emergency care
The new programme, which will open for applications in January 2025, focuses on strengthening leadership and systems skills in emergency care – areas where the industry is facing major challenges globally. Students will be given the tools to meet these challenges through systems thinking and sustainable work management, which are central to developing robust and sustainable healthcare systems.
“It is important that today's care systems are developed with staff wellbeing in mind. Tackling these challenges requires strong systems thinking and sustainable leadership tools,” says Christoffer Ericsson, Senior Lecturer in Emergency Care at Arcada.
A unique opportunity for global networking
The programme is specifically designed for all professionals who may be involved in emergency care, such as paramedics, nurses, social workers and physiotherapists. As the studies are fully in online, it is possible for students to combine their studies with work. This also enables interdisciplinary and international collaboration.
“This programme offers something completely new in emergency care, and at the same time offers professionals working in Finland the opportunity to expand their knowledge. By bringing together students from different countries and professions, we create a shared learning environment, where knowledge exchange goes both ways,” says Anu Venesoja, Principal Lecturer in Emergency Care at LAB.
The application period is 8–22 January 2025. Read more about the programme on our website.
