Path studies could be for you if your aim is to apply for a LAB degree programme in the future. After completing the path studies, you can apply for a LAB degree programme by separate application at studyinfo.fi. Attention! Persons who have a valid undergraduate student's right to study at a Finnish university cannot be elected in a separate application.
In order to be able to complete 55 ECTS in one academic year, you're required to commit yourself in studying full-time.

For a tentative schedule of the studies arranged in spring 2025, please visit LAB's online scheduling programme. We aim to update the spring schedule by the end of December 2024.
Age of at least 18 years. Good written and verbal English language skills.
We will arrange an English language test to all bachelor-level path study applicants. The language test will be arranged by online meeting in December 2024 (weeks 50 - 51). The exact time will be announced at the beginning of week 50. You are expected to pass the language test in order to be accepted to path studies.
The studies at LAB UAS are carried out by utilizing digitality. Electronic learning environments and digital materials are an integral part of the learning process. The student is required to utilize his / her own device in studies.
Open UAS students are not entitled to receive any study benefits such as student allowance or discounts on train or bus tickets.
If you are unemplyed and your objective is to complete the path studies at Open UAS, you should always negotiate beforehand with your employment officer to determine whether it is possible without losing your unemployment benefit. This way you will avoid possible claims for recovery.
Terms of payment
The first semester fee of 100€ must be paid within 7 days after you are notified that you have been allocated a path study place. Payment instructions will be sent in the acceptance letter sent by email.
Students from non-EU/EEA countries
After completing path studies (i.e. first-year studies, no additional studies via Open UAS are available), if you are admitted as a degree student, the tuition fee for students from the non-EU/EEA countries per academic year is 8000 € for Bachelor’s Degree Programmes. Because of your path studies you are entitled to have 20% discount of your first year tuition fee.
For your first year as a degree student no scholarships are available.
A student must complete 60 credits (in bachelor's degree) per academic year to be eligible for the 50% scholarship. This policy will be applied until the end of the study time after the first year as a degree student. The credits completed during your path studies will not be considered.

The places of the open UAS studies are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Please note that the registration is binding.
