Yritysten elinkaarivalmennushanke ELIVA

The Business Lifecycle Coaching project ELIVA creates an operating model for the integration of LAB University of

Applied Sciences' business teaching and working life. The model helps to advantage the growth, innovations and

renewal of South Karelian companies by offering business services integrated and tailor-made into companies’

lifecycle. The project strengthens collaboration between the public and private sectors and enhances the accessibility

of business services by offering companies cooperation with the LAB University of Applied Sciences. The aim is to

support companies at different stages of their life cycle by utilizing the expert and student resources at LAB Universityof Applied Sciences.

A new operating model combining business and the University of Applied Sciences will be built together with

companies, LAB University of Applied Sciences, South Karelian Entrepreneurs, Business Mill and other actors promoting entrepreneurship. In the future, companies will receive help for their development needs more efficiently and flexibly.

The project promotes working life connections of students and experts. The operating model created in the project

fosters the placement of students graduating from LAB University of Applied Sciences in companies in the region and strengthens their entrepreneurial competence. Thus, the project will reduce the transfer of skilled labor to the growth centers of Southern Finland.

The project measures are divided into two work packages in collaboration with the actors: TP1 Creation of pilots for

the company's lifecycle coaching service concept and TP2 Implementing pilots in the business field with those working in the business services field.

TP1 creates an operating model in which the teaching of the various units of the LAB is

developed and implemented together with companies in the area. The project will pilot five training packages for

companies in different stages of the company's life cycle (idea, start-up, growth, “business as usual” and change).

Based on these, LAB teaching will be developed to be more business-oriented in order to serve companies in the

challenges of developing their businesses. The number of companies participating in the coaching processes will be

defined according to the development needs which the companies participating in the different coaching events bring up.

The implementation of the coaching will be carried out in cooperation with South Karelian Entrepreneurs and other actors promoting entrepreneurship. In the coaching programs, the operations of companies are developed through the collaboration between LAB's experts, students and companies. In addition to coaching, development forums will be implemented, which will be widely targeted at companies and entrepreneurship promoters in the region. In addition, the project will build stronger cooperation and more efficient data transfer between the actors serving companies. Successful marketing communication and informing is the key to achieving project objectives.

As a result of the project, a new joint operating model of companies and LAB University of Applied Sciences will be created in South Karelia. The new model will promote renewal and growth of companies in the region.

The project will also create practical learning opportunities for students, new working life and coaching skills for teachers, as well as new partnerships and networks between companies and LAB University of Applied Sciences.

Gender equality is promoted at all stages of the project. The aim of the project is to select both female and male

entrepreneurs equally. Life cycle coaching takes into account the different situations and needs of women and men

entrepreneurs.
