The aim is to strengthen the employability of students in LAB UAS Business department in a world where competence needs are expected to change faster and more radically than before. The project will develop a training programme focused on work-life skills – metaskills – which have been highlighted as both essential and emerging competencies in working life (e.g., Future of Jobs 2025 and Osaaminen 2035). In 2024–2025, LAB piloted an initial version of the programme, which now needs to be deepened, enhanced for greater impact, expanded to include new skills, and extended in duration so it can be implemented with multiple student groups.



With the Otsakorpi Foundation grant, the project to be carried out in 2026 aims to strengthen students’ employability. The project objectives are:



To deepen the students’ Future Work-Life Skills training programme beyond the pilot level.

To expand the programme to also include thinking and problem-solving skills.

To enable increased student participation and coverage.

To engage and inspire teachers through effective communication.

To ensure the long-term continuity of the training programme.



From a sustainable development perspective, our goals focus on providing high-quality education, strengthening collaboration and partnership capabilities, and supporting decent and meaningful work that contributes to economic growth.
