MUrCS3 - Master of Urban Climate and Sustainability
The project delas with a multidisciplinary and international Joint Master Degree program which will be carried out in all three partner counties and universities. Project is a continuum for Erasmus LLP project Rescue in which the core ideas, pedagogical solutions and contents were developed already.
Future cities will face more complex challenges than before. Working life will need professionals who have competences to recognize knowledge base and management models required in interdisciplinary tasks. The new international education combines core contents from climate change mitigation, change management and urban planning.
In this Erasmus Mundus master program the mobility of the students and teachers is guaranteed. The EU funding provides opportunity of three student intakes for the two-year master program. The program increases the amount of students and graduates in English master programs by 15-20 students annually. The competences of the participating teachers are developed in international and multidisciplinary cooperation.
The first year of the project is reserved for planning and implementing practical arrangements and marketing. The student selection is carried out together with participating universities. The first student group starts their studies in Glasgow Caledonian University (UK) in 2018 and the next semesters in Lahti University of Applied Sciences and University of Huelva (SP).
