KaakkoAct - Transforming Foresight into Action
The KaakkoAct - Transforming Foresight into Action project focuses on the utilization of foresight knowledge and the development of organizations' strategic foresight, strengthening network cooperation and supporting regional vitality. The main goal of the project is to strengthen the vitality of Southeast Finland and the functionality of the labor market by developing the strategic foresight of the region's companies, educational institutions and the public sector. The project aims to support the forecasting of the region's future skills needs, to improve the relationship between experts and jobs, and to increase cooperation between operators in the region.
The goal of the project is to integrate foresight knowledge more closely into decision-making, so that organizations can better prepare for changes in the economy, working life and education. KaakkoAct brings together actors from Kymenlaakso, South Karelia and Southern Savonia to build a common vision of the future and develop operating models that respond to the region's special challenges, such as population decline and labor shortages.
The following actions are implemented in the project:
1. Strengthening the foresight expertise of companies and educational institutions and increasing cooperation in order to utilize foresight knowledge.
2. Creation of common situational and future images, and developing solutions on the basis of them to strengthen regional vitality.
3. Development of scalable and replicable operating models that support long-term regional development and continuous strategic foresight.
4. National sharing of operating models and developed measures.As a result of the project, predictive information becomes a key part of regional decision-making, and it strengthens the region's economic sustainability in the long term.
The project supports Southeastern Finland's companies and educational institutions to meet future skills needs, future-building innovation activities, and at the same time creates supra-provincial cooperation to support regional development.
