The Kookos Project aims to bring clarity to the fragmented field of experiential expertise in South Karelia and to strengthen the use of experiential knowledge in working life and social and healthcare education. The project will develop a regional model for experiential experts and design and pilot a new type of experiential expert training programme. Both the model and the training programme will be compiled into an easy-to-read publication that will be freely available for wider use. In addition, the project will clarify the terminology related to experiential expertise and strengthen collaboration between experiential experts, educational institutions, workplaces, and non-governmental organisations.

The project is coordinated by LAB University of Applied Sciences, with South Karelia Wellbeing Services County, Heikintalo Association, and the national Experiential Expertise Network as project partners. The project is implemented in close cooperation with regional organisations and experiential experts.

The project will also enhance collaboration between higher education institutions, the wellbeing services county, and organisations across the private, public, third, and fourth sectors in South Karelia, creating stronger regional networks and more effective use of experiential expertise in service development, education, and working life.
