5th Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2026 Conference
The 5th Smart Cities in Smart Regions Conference takes place on September 23–24, 2026 at the campus of LAB University of Applied Sciences in the beautiful city of Lahti, Finland.
The themes of the conference are:
- Climate-Smart and Circular Economy
- Well-being in Smart Cities and Regions
- Smart Value Creation
SCSR2026 looks ahead to a future where sustainability is not just a goal but the foundation for thriving cities and regions. Resilience is about readiness – how urban and regional systems can anticipate and adapt to climate-smart transitions while enabling the well-being of people and nature. The conference invites participants to explore bold ideas and practical solutions that make cities smarter: sustainable, inclusive, and interconnected.
A key aspect of the conference is to promote collaboration between researchers, industry, and local and regional development actors. Therefore, presentations of scientific and applied research as well as practical case examples are welcomed, which gives the participants a great opportunity to familiarize themselves with the newest research as well as innovative real-world applications. Companies, organizations, and public sector actors are encouraged to present their best practices, practical innovations, and development projects connected to the themes of the conference.
We welcome also proposals for workshops that promote collaboration and exchange of knowledge in an interactive way.
