Proposal Submissions

Proposal submission will open on December 2nd 2024 and end on February 2nd 2025.

We invite all language centre members to share insights and experiments in research, development, and teaching. We hope the following themes to serve as inspiration for the proposals.

Language and sustainable future  

  • Themes that promote a sustainable future (cf. United Nations Goals for sustainable development)  

  • The future of language learning and teaching 

  • Global education in language learning  

  • Language awareness 

  • Equality and inclusivity 

     

Language and society  

  • The relationship of language and power  

  • The changing international situation 

  • Intercultural communication 

  • Interaction 

  

Language and learning  

  • The diversity of teaching and learning 

  • Evaluation of learning and knowledge  

  • Feedback and its significance  

  • Teaching methods based in art or literature 

  • Pedagogical experiments and innovations  

  • Accessible language and communication teaching 

     

Language and technology 

  • Studying online vs in-class 

  • Hybrid teaching 

  • The opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence  

  • Artificial intelligence and evaluation

The options for presentation formats are presentation (20+5 minutes) or workshop (50 minutes, either discussive or practical). We also accept research posters, but no time slots will be dedicated to them in the programme.  

Proposal should be submitted by February 2nd 2025 via email to Kielikeskuspaivatatlab [dot] fi (Kielikeskuspaivat[at]lab[dot]fi). The proposal should be no more than 250 words if in Finnish, and 300 words if in Swedish or English. Please include a 50-word summary to be published with the programme. 

The proposal may be either in Finnish, Swedish or English. You can give presentations in other languages as well, but you should prepare to offer supportive material in English.
