Sustainable Horizons

The Sustainable Horizons Alliance aligns with the European Research Area (ERA) and European Education Area (EEA) in 2025 by developing research quality synergies to better face upcoming global challenges and opportunities in education linked with the research. The overall goal is to build the stronger European dimension made of diverse approaches, territories and institutions. The alliance focus on a regionally based sustainability-oriented perspective. The final beneficiaries are students and their future possibilities, landscapes and outreaches under a context of smart capacity, research and innovation, for a better society and stronger economy.

Alliance members:

Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft Ludwigshafen (Germany),
Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Timisoara (Romania).

The goals are:
- Developing common R&I strategies and prepare plans (green deal, AI, open science, gender equality, other)
- Developing practices on specific areas of institutional change, sharing of capacity, infrastructure, resources;
- Transition to knowledge, digitally driven universities;
- Reinforcing cooperation with ecosystem actors and creating proximity to and engaging citizens further strengthen our contribution to SDGs (UN's Sustainable Development Goals) and mission concerning education, research and innovation.

20 CEO of companies included in academia-business events
10 new HEI from Africa, Asia and south America in the network as associated partners

More 10% Local citizen aware of sustainability concept and its importance to have a safe and just space for humanity respecting nature and planetary boundaries
5% more of research products of Alliance WidC HEI in Open Access (OA publications, OA data set, repositories)
