CitiCAP - Citizens' cap-and-trade co-created

The aim of CitiCAP (Citizens Cap and Trade co-created) is to reduce traffic emissions, collect and open digital traffic information, and develop new sustainable transport services for urban people. Lahti's CitiCAP project will evaluate residents' personal mobility emissions trading as part of the area's transport policy and build smart main bicycle route.
Personal emissions trading means in practice that a people in city of Lahti benefit from reducing their own traffic emissions. This benefit can be various advantages in traffic environment and right to use some additional services. For example, it is possible for a resident to get more affordable public transport tickets or bicycle maintenance services if monthly personal carbon emissions quota has been achieved. The aim is also to get employers involved in the CitiCAP project to reward their own employees for sustainable mobility.
