Path studies could be for you if your aim is to apply for a LAB degree programme in the future. After completing the path studies, you can apply for a LAB degree programme by separate application at studyinfo.fi. The second year of studies includes a lot of hands-on work and attendance on campus is required. Attention! Persons who have a valid undergraduate student's right to study at a Finnish university cannot be elected in a separate application.
In order to be able to complete 55 ECTS in one academic year, you're required to commit yourself in studying full-time.

Age of at least 18 years. Good written and verbal English language skills.
We will arrange a language test to all bachelor-level path study applicants. The language test will be arranged by online meeting on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at 10 am. You are expected to pass the language test in order to be accepted to path studies.
Open UAS students are not entitled to receive any study benefits such as student allowance or discounts on train or bus tickets.
If you are unemplyed and your objective is to complete the path studies at Open UAS, you should always negotiate beforehand with your employment officer to determine whether it is possible without losing your unemployment benefit. This way you will avoid possible claims for recovery.
Terms of payment
The first semester fee of 100€ must be paid within 7 days after you are notified that you have been allocated a path study place. Payment instructions will be sent in the acceptance letter sent by email.
Students from non-EU/EEA countries
After completing one year of path studies, if you are admitted as a degree student, the tuition fee for students from the non-EU/EEA countries per academic year is 8000 € for Bachelor’s Degree Programmes. For your first year as a degree student no scholarships are available. If you have completed the minimum of 60 credits on your first year as a degree student, you are entitled to a 50% scholarship for your second year as a degree student. The credits completed during your path studies will not be considered.
The places of the open UAS courses are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Please note that the registration is binding.
